Lynda DeFuria is a Jersey born, Las Vegas raised, New York based singer, award-winning songwriter, actress, director, theatre-maker, teaching artist, and overall wearer of many artistic hats.
From a young age, Lynda knew that she wanted to be Celine Dion. With that goal in mind, she began studying music at 6 years old and performing locally in Las Vegas when she was 9 years old all the way through high school as she attended the Las Vegas Academy. With her first and only 3 original songs as her submission, she was chosen to attend Grammy Camp in Los Angeles the summer before her senior year of high school where she was mentored by industry legends. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music, she has crafted and journeyed a winding artistic path on stage, both in music and theatre. Lynda completed a multi-year and production run in the Tony award-winning musical “Kinky Boots.” From swinging 5 roles on the US and Canadian National Tour to playing Pat both at sea on Norwegian Cruise Line and in the Off-Broadway company at Stage 42. As a singer, she has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Sydney Opera House, national TV's “Showtime at the Apollo,” and the iconic The Bitter End.
A very important teacher once made Lynda write a song for one of her lessons and even though Celine Dion didn’t write songs, Lynda reluctantly gave it a try — and it changed her life. Lynda’s original music has won BMI’s John Lennon Songwriting Award and been featured on Netflix. Her songwriting catalogue, includes “Alive” EP, “Ticking Clocks,” and the album “Keeping Time (Deluxe)” which explores themes of timing, inner growth, sobriety, healing, and experiencing life “on your own time, in your own time.” Other releases include the ethereal and driving “The Finish Line,” , the emotional mental health anthemic ballad, “Heavy” and the rainbow pop bop “Something To Do with Love.” She is represented by A&G Sync for music licensing.
When not onstage or in the studio, Lynda takes enthusiastic joy in her work as a teacher, coach, and mentor to artists of all ages. She runs her own private studio, LDF Music, and currently holds residencies with: New York City Children’s Theater and The Entertainment Community Fund as a teaching artist. She teaches songwriting, vocal ensemble, and audition masterclasses nationally.
Always curious and creating, Lynda wrote the book, music, and lyrics for “Letters to Santa,” an original Christmas musical which will have an industry reading Spring 2026. She is also in pre-production for her next album of pop bops with big feelings tentatively titled “Things Found in The Attic,” as well as writing a collection of memoir-style essays about her 20’s in New York City from a post-sobriety point of view titled, “Wine Lips.”
Lynda loves making things happen. She is a woman who gets things done, a big fan of to-do lists, and the queen of conversational tangents.
